Developed together with farmers and other actors in the wheat sector, the Harmony programme is taking a new step forward. Launched in 2008 by Mondelēz International, the initiative is now being transformed into an independent certification system, with its governance transferred to the Fondation ProTerra, a non‑profit organisation that specialises in sustainability certification schemes. Under the new structure, Harmony will be open to any eligible participant across the European wheat value chain, allowing a broader range of growers, traders, processors and other stakeholders to engage with the programme. The change marks the first time the formerly Mondelēz‑run programme is managed by an external certification body.
